Creative Balloon Sculpting (Part 1)

Mindy, Chris, Sylvia, Sharon, her 2 girls & I attended Ms. Lily Tan's Creative Balloon Sculpting LifeSkill Seminar class last Sunday, from 2.30-5.30pm over at Trinity@PL.

It is FOC aka free, open to the public & walk-ins are welcome. However, if you know me & would like me to register in advance for you, feel free to contact me k?

Each of us were given a pkt of assorted balloons each

Green long ones...

My very 1st green flower stem!

Red round balloons

Assorted variety!

Duhz!

Yay! A huge balloon bouquet made by all of us! It was indeed incredible unity & strategic planning as we divided labour - some to pump & blow up the balloons, some to tie them & some to twist!

My little red dog...

Lame...haha!

Thank you Lily for blessing us with your skills & gifting in balloon sculpting. I will try to practice the basic twists you've taught us to bless the kids in my class!

I lugged a huge black rubbish bag of balloons to class today to bless my colleagues & caregivers. It felt good telling them I made it myself & could tell them more about the upcoming class on 7th of Sept over at Trinity@Adam.

A peanut, 4 muffins & 2 candles

Parents were munching on peanuts & I saw this! 4 peas in a pod! So cute! "Special needs" eh? Haha!

Class next door blessed us with 4 baked muffins from their housecraft lesson. It was very nice, esp with the M&Ms topping! U can never go wrong with it!

We did blowing exercises in class today. Some kids could with much effort & saliva all over me, some could not. It's ok, we''ll try harder next time! Practice makes perfect!

So Blessed!

My very 1st Tr's Day gift in advance from Jin's mom! What a pleasant surprise that made my day! Not only was the pouch in my favourite colour - RED....

When I poured out the contents, these were what I found! Woo hoo! Yummy chocs in bite-sized pieces...almost ate them all up at one go! Had to control! Only 3.5 bars left! Haha!

Most touching thing was that even though I've not taught him since 2006, his mother never fail to bless me with a gift every year, ever since!

I am so blessed! :)

My Oh My! :P

I was a good gal. I treadmilled for 30 mins, aerobics danced for 1 hour, biked for 20 mins, did weights for 15 minutes. But gave it all up for a "sinful" dinner/supper with my brother & his gf, Celeste.

It was a good time of bonding & catching up with the both of them as we did some silly things to "entertain" ourselves throughout. Take a look at what we did......

$2 (super-ex!) Being a popiah fanatic, just had to get one! Supposedly crunchy but ok la, so-so only thought it was quite huge.

$3 char kuay teow

$4 fried hokkien mee, bro's fav.

Whenever you come to Chomp Chomp, how can you not order BBQ chicken wings huh? $4

6 pork & 4 chicken satays. BTW, I eat only chicken satay ok! $4

Oyster omelette, $4

Money all spent, pockets all empty, stomach not that quite full but still have space for......

Egg milk & chocolate soya beancurd - tasted more like jelly in texture

Original soya beancurd in soya milk with dumplings (peanut & black sesame fillings!)

Mmmm....simply delicious!

Yipee yay yay! Dessert time! How delightful & gleeful I look!

Fabian & his egg milk beancurd

Celeste & her chocolate beancurd

Happy, contended & supremely satisfied me!!!

A Picture Tells a Thousand Words...

This photo was taken in 2005 when I was in Yogjarkata for the 17th Asian Conference on Mental Retardation.

It was also the year I was struggling with depression due to the side effects of some medication I was on & stress at work (coz of unrealistic expectations I had of myself & was relying on my own strength rather than on God's).

It was also the year I dropped 20kg (unhealthily) as a result of it, though people who didn't know better complimented on my rapid weight loss.

I have fully recovered from it ever since then - thanks to the grace & mercy of God! Though the weight piled back on, I am learning to lose it the right & proper way through regular exercise & a sensible diet.

The recovery process was painful & at times, I felt as if I might not make it sane & alive. I very much wanted to give up. The lies & thoughts that the enemy tried to make me believe were scary & deceitful! It was so tiring & felt as if there was no hope. John 10: 10 says that the enemy's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. God's purpose is to give life in all its fullness.

My Abba Father loved me so much & had relentless belief in me that I will come out of it stronger & better than before! He sent loved ones to support & walk me through in my times of need. Death as no hold on me anymore for Christ has given me the victory & His Word has set me free!!

I clung onto 2 Timothy 1: 7 for my dear life: For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Suffice to say, it was a dark period of time in my life. During my road to recovery, I did ask "God, why me?". I may never know why till the day I meet my Creator face to face in heaven. But we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8: 28)

Looking back, it was His way of refining & molding me in the Potter's Hands. It was as if God was refining & purifying me as pure gold & silver so that I may once again offer acceptable sacrifices onto the Lord as in Malachi 3: 3.

For this, I am eternally grateful & thankful for! For I will never be the same again! :)

Sengkang Feature Swimming Pool!

Before the swim! So eager, can't wait to try out everything!

The large pail of water fills up to the brim & *SPLASH*!!! Quite forceful!
8 slides, with the purple & yellow twister slides the scariest! I almost died trying but got hooked onto it after that!

Jacuzzi with strong jets of water hitting your lower back & calves. It's very soothing & addictive! If only the pool was heated!

Me after swimming, nice & clean, freshly showered! So proud I swam 20 laps! Up 2 more from my previous 18!

Shopping for Gift Prizes for D & D

I had a great time spending money that did not was not mine! Fun fun fun! Esp. when you get great deals at 50%-70% off! Yipee!

This photo is "proof" of me working hard at Tangs@Vivo after school! No mean feat lugging these 2 huge & heavy bags onto the train ok!

Maybe I should attach this photo to my next appraisal when it comes round? Haha!

Organic "Cardboard" Biscuits?!?

Someone donated boxes of organic oaten & chocolate coated coconut biscuits/cookies to us that has to be consumed by the end of August.

Very high class looking - we sure were excited!

These plain ones looked boring but smelled very fragrant! However, they were dry, chewy & too healthy even for my liking!

These, on the other hand, tasted heavenly! They were so to die for! They were gone in a few seconds! *drool*
