Are You Sold Out for God?

Sold Out
TGIF Today God Is First Volume 1 by Os Hillman

"But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ." Philippians 3:7

George Mueller was a man known for building orphanages by faith in the mid-1800s. He raised literally millions of dollars for his orphanages, yet died with little in his own bank account. When asked about his conversion experience he commented,

"I was converted in November of 1825, but I only came into the full surrender of the heart four years later, in July 1829. The love of money was gone, the love of place was gone, the love of position was gone, and the love of worldly pleasures and engagements was gone. God, God alone became my portion. I found my all in Him; I wanted nothing else. And by the grace of God this has remained, and has made me a happy man, an exceedingly happy man, and it led me to care only about the things of God. I ask affectionately, my beloved brethren, have you fully surrendered the heart to God, or is there this thing or that thing with which you have taken up irrespective of God? I read a little of the scriptures before, but preferred other books; but since that time the revelation He has made of Himself has become unspeakably blessed to me, and I can say from my heart, God is an infinitely lovely Being. Oh, be not satisfied until in your own inmost soul you can say, God is an infinitely lovely Being!" [Basil Miller, Man of Faith and Miracles (Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bethany House Publishers, n.d.)]

Many will never get to the place where George Mueller was in his spiritual life, because we are unwilling to release control of these areas of which he speaks. If we do release control, it usually is due to a process that God brings us through. Paul got knocked off a horse and was spoken to personally before he was willing to listen and follow completely. Peter had to live with Jesus three years and he still denied Him. It was only later, after he denied Jesus and realized how weak he was in his own faith, that he became fully committed to the Savior.

What will it take for you to fully surrender? You will know that you have given full surrender when power, money, and position no longer have meaning in your life. Paul said he came to a place where his life was the life of Christ only. It is a sacrificial life, but it is also a life of freedom, purpose, and meaning. Let God take full control and see His life lived fully through you.

A Heartfelt Letter from a Parent to Me....

Hi Fiona

Firstly, i have to thank you for the effort of planning outdoor trips
for the children. Besides classroom activities, I feel that they need
some fresh air from outdoors..occasional outdoor activities make their
school life more colourful and less boring.

XY's biting is getting more controlled..at least today...am
learning. at least i have learnt to make myself the sole caregiver so
to have more control over him.. and be very persistent.i learnt a
great deal from the show 'miracle worker'.. this movie has given me
lots of encouragment. taught me to have lots of patience and being
persistent will help XY to remove all the undesired behaviours.
I actually had a copy a few years ago but it has so many marks on them
now that i cant view it anymore... do u have a softcopy so i can
borrowte to dup?

yesterday, the public bus came so late that i arrived home even later
than XY... ha ha ha. oh,, i didnt get to speak with the
psychologist... she was on med leave so she has rescheduled the
workshop to another day.

i have a few things which i would like to learnt more from you. prob
we can talk when we meet.... just a few points to ponder.
1) PECS. does XY use the pecs on the green book in class?
2) is Class 123 best suit XY? sorry for such a diff qtn....
3) XYl feels frustrated cos he fails to communicate....thats the
trigger point for tantrums. is PECS the best communication tool for
special needs children?
4) i need your help to guide me on what kind of activities i should
let XY do at home?

thanks Fiona! am grateful that XY is in your class. you have a big
heart to teach!

Why Go For Care Cell?

B'coz if you're broke by the end of the week & have no plans on a "hot" Friday night, cell is the best place one can ever be! Not convinced? Read on....Besides playing silly games that make u laugh until u roll on the floor, you also have refreshments (not always la!) at the end of it.
All the way from the USA no less! How blessed by Sharon T. for it! 62% choc covered cherries! They are huge! *drool*
Due to unforseen circumstances, I can't eat it until next week! *sob sob* Eagerly waiting in anticipation! :P

Tantrum-related induced injury....

It has been a long time since I last sustained one of these from my kids. On a scale of 1-10, this is not even 0.25.

Can you imagine what we SPED teachers face on a daily basis? This is something mainstream teachers can never ever comprehend la. Nothing against them & also not that I am complaining.

Tantrum-related behaviours & induced injuries are never personal. It is never about the teacher but all about the child. Can we "normal" people ever understand what the child might be going through? Can you?

If you are scratching and/or shaking your head, thinking "How naughty" or "tsk tsk-ing" away, come talk to me ya?

Passion(fruit)!

Had my dad eaten more of it, been more active & taken better of his physical & mental health, he'd be still around today.

Fresh Passion Fruit is known to be high in vitamin A, potassium and dietary fibre. The Yellow variety is used for juice processing, while the Purple variety is sold in fresh fruit markets. Passion fruit juice is a good source of ascorbic acid (vitamin C).

What a Quote!

"Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play. Find something you enjoy doing.

Do it.

Over and over again.

You will become good at it for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often. Soon, that will have value in itself.

Find that pursuit that will energise you, consume you, become an obsession.
Each day, you must rise with a restless enthusiasm. If you don't, you are
working."

How Great Is Our God! :)

Life has been super exciting, roller coaster-like, heart-stopping aka skip a beat, painful at times, powerful & definitely very humbling experience. Everyday is different with our God. I have been forced to walk by faith & not by sight.

I stand in awe of His awesomeness & greatness, a new dimension that I am experiencing. I now fully understand & am able to comprehend what it really means to be a willing & fully surrendered vessel for God. It takes lots of emptying out of myself, a daily dying to self so that He can be glorifed & praised!

Dad's demise has not been in vain. He has left behind a certain kind of legacy. By having a Christian wake, the body of Christ (the church & care cell) was able to minister to my family in our time of bereavement & need. Well done Trinitarians for the excellent level of Care & Connecting!

You know what? The devil may have taken one (my dad) away from me but I (by God's strength & wisdom) will snatch back 4 or more back from him! Amen? I seal the salvation of the rest of my unsaved loved ones in Jesus' name!

Pressing in...there's no holding back...I will fight this battle well no matter what...victory is mine for sure for Jesus paid the price for ALL of us at the Cross!
