Books I've Read Recently

Parents, in particular, mothers, are usually the best advocates & supporters of their own children with special needs. An inspiring story of how a mother fought for what her 2 sons with autism deserve when society is not doing what it should.

A humourous, heartwarming & encouraging insight of the life if Oto who was born with no limbs at all & how despite his physical challenges & limitations, managed to succeed in life!

Project 365: 7 May, 2010

1st day of workshops & talks at Asian Festival of Children's Content at The Arts House. Workshop 1: Visual Language - Deciphering the Picture by John McKenzie
The Joy through Books: The National Centre for Children's Literature in France: History, Missions and Organisation by Nathalie Beau. There was nothing very joyful about this sharing session as we were bored to tears. *yawn* Couldn't wait for it to end!

The Centrality of Story in the Curriculum by John McKenzie. His sessions were quite engaging & thought-provoking.

Book Launch of "God is Hu?" by Susanna Goho-Quek at Earshot Cafe.
A lovely book about nature. Part of the proceeds go to the SAVH (S'pore Association for the Visually Handicapped)
Synopsis

Susanna Goho-Quek's first picture book, God is Hu? shows her love of painting, nature and telling stories to children. God Is Hu? is a book that celebrates the wondrous beauty and colours of the world. It tells the story of how the world was created with the magic of God's imaginary paintbrush. From the smallest pebble to the splendour of the sea, God fills in the tiniest details and the most sweeping landscapes with joy, laughter and love.
A grandmother herself, Susanne loves working with children. She has also established herself as one of the most respected names in the antiques and collectibles market. Susanna was also an interior decorator, art exhibition planner and fashion designer.
Me in lovely pink. Not a colour I wear often though.

Supper treat after cell, coz I ran out of money & could not find any ATM around.

What Have I Read Recently?

A book on a boy's road to recovery from austism, a determined mother who will stop at nothing to help her son & a dog named Henry who entered the boy's world to break through the glass of autism. Quite a heartwarming & compelling read.
Do check it out!
