Day 1 of Pre-Church Camp: Bangkok

My BBF & I at Departure Hall at T1

Feeling greedy yet peckish at the same time, we bought hot fresh soyabean milk from Mr.Bean before boarding & had to gulp it down in record down! Almost burnt my tongue!

On the plane...

Han & Nancy whom we booked the camp together with. I was 3rd in Q over at PL ok! Started Q-ing since 2pm!

Their 2 lovely girls, Evangeline (left) & Sarah, whom we had a blast of a time with!
We had to take a transfer shuttle bus to the main airport terminal. Ride was about 10mins.

Han's retro luggage was damaged. Praise God for favour as he got a brand new luggage immediately. Another church member's luggage burst open & the baby food supplies inside spilled out. They got a cash refund instead.

Very long never seen revolving doors already so must take photo with it. Like small kid like that, kept walking through it several times while waiting for the bus to bring us to the hotel.

At the ticket machine in Bangkok, I got mine!

On BTS...

National Day Preview 3!

12 Happy Meals for the kids & food enough to keep 12 adults satisfied & happy.

A colleague's creative go at the red & white theme!

We had to stick this sticker on to be able to go into Marina Bay for the parade

Red Lions who never fail to keep its loyal fans screaming for joy & for more!

I like it when the copters carry a giant State flag across the stadium

Very colourful & sensory-based

Fireworks were awesome! But I don't think they used up all coz it was quite short. Must save the best for last for the actual day on 9th August right?

More Treats!

Nigel just came back from HK & his mummy blessed us with a box of "lao pop bing" or Wife's Biscuits.

Very nice packaging & short story of how this famous tasty bite came about.

Bridget's dad also blessed us with KFC when the kids had dental yesterday. Gosh! He bought a 10pc meal & we ate & ate!

Cranberry Cereal Crunch yoghurt from AMK Hub

Couldn't resist the mixed mushroom stir fry. I simply love & adore mushrooms of all kinds k? The bigger the better! Esp. those fat & juicy ones!

Sylvia's interesting drink of chin chow cendol in iced milk tea. Quite nice & super strong! $2!

Save $$$!

A money saving idea taught by Lina. When you think your tube of facial wash or moisturizer has just finished, cut it up in sections to really dig out every single last bit! You will be surprised how much you can find in it!

Times are bad & this calls for desperate measures! Haha! :)

$5!

$5 China-made school shoes in black from Chinatown. Really soft & comfy but you can't really walk lots in them as they don't have much support.

I bought 2 pairs!!!

Sushi Galore!

Sunday's sermon was on the spirit of greed. The greek word for greed is pleonexia - a strong desire to acquire more & more posessions, esp. that which is forbidden, irrespective of one's need & is always used in bad sense. It is also an insatiable craving, consuming ambition/discontent &/or giving rein to the appetities & desires which are against the laws of God & man.

One way to break out from the prison of greed is to release generously to bless others, esp. our family & loved ones.

After service, the usual chin gang of us went to Thomson Plaza NTUC Finest (newly opened!) after a hearty breakfast at Swensons.

The sushi & sashimi was on sale & I was hesitating whether I should buy some for dad as it's his favourite. The gals reminded me about this morning's sermon & I went ahead, chalking up to about $30+ worth of raw food!

There is nothing raw about this chicken murtabak we had in Little India for dinner. Just wanted to show you all how giantic it was! *grin*

Food Treat!

Had a brave go at Thunder Tea Rice - a very healthy brown rice mixture of greens, nuts, grains & macha gree tea. Din quite like the tea. Had the rice on it's own which was quite fragrant though would take time to get used to it.

A sinful treat! 3 scoops & 2 toppings for $14.90!

Had to simply share it with my godson la! How good looking he is right?

MOE Excel Fest (Part 1)

My school set up a booth

Handicrafts created by the pupils. Sales were very good & the stall was packed!

Informal L-Cell Dinner@WestLake

Famous for the above!

Juicy slabs of 3 layered pork. The sauce was quite nice!

Soft hot fluffy buns to go with the juicy slices of meat

Yam ring filled with lots of goodies!

Roast chicken was quite tasty. Food servings here are quite small & slightly on the high side.

My fav. red bean paste pancake! Crisp, crunchy & absolutely sinful!!!

A Yoghurt a Day!

I have cultivated the habit of having at least 1 small tub of yoghurt a day. It's either Margold or Forme Non-Fat. Keeps me & my tummy happy!
